Position Title: Children’s Program Coordinator (Part-Time 6-8 hours/week)
Reports to: Executive Director
Position Scope and Purpose: Skyline Literacy Children’s Program and its ESOL classes are offered from September to December and January to May for an average of 80 hours per semester. Classes are from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM two days per week. The Children’s Program and its concurrent ESOL class are taking place at Spotswood Elementary School for fall 2026. Fifteen children, ages 4-12, are expected to enroll in the Children’s Program.
Description of General Duties: The Children's Program Coordinator will manage the children’s program for children 4 to 12 years old during the ESL classes for their parents, oversee the volunteers, create volunteer schedules, plan all activities, ensure the timely flow of the program components, functioning as the “go-to” person for questions/information about the program, and monitoring situations that arise. The CPC will arrive at the site no later than 5:45 p.m. and leave once all children have been released to their parents and the space is cleared and cleaned.
Responsibilities
Maintain volunteer information and availability; assign volunteers to class nights; work with the Skyline Executive Director to ensure adequate volunteers are available each class night.
Provide monthly reports to Executive Director with names and hours of volunteers and the number of children served.
Facilitate the registration of children by parents; ensure all parental permission and children's information forms are completed and signed.
Work with volunteers to oversee the release of children to parents at the end of the class.
Monitor situations and take appropriate actions; report unusual cases to the Executive Director
Provide planning, creation, and coordination of all activities with volunteers; create an activity plan with designated activity times for each session for the semester.
Work with the Executive Director to ensure program continuity and coverage during university holidays or breaks.
Monitor all activities to ensure the program site remains in good condition.
Preferred qualifications
Prior experience with volunteer coordination
At least 1-2 years’ experience working with children

Work on-site at the class location Monday and Thursday evenings, 5:45-8:15 p.m. Work off-site three hours per week on program planning and coordinating activities. Pay rate: $35/per hour
